Rep. Lepore-Hagan statement on Ohio Redistricting Committee public hearing in Youngstown

Rep. Michele Lepore-Hagan (D-Youngstown) issued a statement following the Ohio Redistricting Commission’s public hearing on state legislative maps Monday in Youngstown. 10 hearings are planned for the week across the state. “The Mahoning Valley showed up and spoke out at today’s Redistricting Commission hearing in Youngstown, calling for better representation and a real voice in their democracy,” said Rep. Lepore-Hagan, who sat on the panel held Monday at Youngstown State University. “I encourage all Ohioans to stay engaged by continuing to speak out and submitting testimony on what they think their districts should look like. How we draw maps will determine the future of Ohio for the next decade or more. It’s important that we keep our communities together to ensure better representation that truly serves the needs of the people—not just the politicians in our state.”
