Rep. Clyde Announces Funds for Community Action Council
COLUMBUS- State Rep. Kathleen Clyde (D-Kent) today announced that the state released $210,000 through the Ohio Housing Trust Fund’s Housing Assistance Grant Program to the Community Action Council of Portage County. Funds will assist around 100 local households.
“This grant for the Community Action Council will serve over 250 local citizens most in need,” said Rep. Clyde. “Everyone should have access to a safe living environment and the Community Action Council provides critical assistance to members of our community who are in need.”
The Community Action Council of Portage County will provide emergency home repairs and handicapped accessibility modifications to homeowners who are at or below 50 percent of area median income in Portage County.
The Ohio Housing Trust Fund provides funding through a competitive process to eligible nonprofit organizations to promote affordable housing opportunities and improve housing conditions for low-income families and individuals. As a result of the funding, an estimated 1,673 homes will be repaired in 63 Ohio counties and 119 households will be provided with Down Payment Assistance.
