Leader Sykes statement as Ohio's Redistricting Commission convenes

Ohio House Minority Leader Emilia Strong Sykes (D-Akron) issued the below statement following the convening of Ohio’s Redistricting Commission Friday.  

“Convening this Commission puts in motion the reforms Ohio voters laid out for us when they unequivocally told us to bring fair districts back to our state. I will work to ensure this process aligns with what voters envisioned—a fair, open and transparent process that empowers voters to choose their leaders. This Commission has a singular task before it: to draw fair maps. That’s what I intend to do.”
