COLUMBUS –Ohio House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) today joined local elected officials and community leaders from across the state of Ohio to kick off the Biden-Harris Administration’s Communities in Action series at the White House. Leader Russo spoke with senior Biden-Harris Administration officials about the benefits of the President’s legislative achievements in Ohio, and shared insights about how legislators can continue to partner with this Administration to leverage these historic investments on behalf of working families in Ohio.

“I am proud to join my fellow elected officials from across Ohio to kick off the Biden-Harris Administration’s Communities in Action series. Democrats are delivering real results for the people of Ohio. We’re lowering health care costs, creating good-paying jobs, tackling the climate crisis, supporting small businesses, and growing our economy. The bills championed by President Biden and Democrats undoubtedly will make Ohio a better, stronger place to live, work and raise a family,”  said Leader Russo.

Democrats have enacted several pieces of legislation that directly benefit Ohioans, including:

1.       American Rescue Plan, which delivered direct relief to hundreds of thousands of Ohioans, invested in local communities, and created a plan to tackle the COVID-19 virus;

2.       Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which invests $2.8 billion directly to Ohio to fix our roads and bridges, clean up Lake Erie, modernize our electric grid, and expand broadband access to every Ohioan;

3.       CHIPS and Science Act, which will reduce the cost of everyday electronic goods, create thousands of high-paying manufacturing jobs right here in Ohio, and strengthen our national security;

4.       Inflation Reduction Act, which will lower costs for families, combat the climate crisis, reduce the deficit, and ensure large corporations finally pay their fair share.
