COLUMBUS – House Democrats today announced two events that continue the caucus’ People First agenda into 2024. The public events will raise awareness for legislative priorities the people of Ohio overwhelmingly want and deserve.
Cutting the Cost of Corruption- Tuesday, January 30th, Reps. Rachel Baker (D-Cincinnati) and Daniel Troy (D-Willowick) will hold a news conference to introduce the latest round of legislation in the House Democrats’ fight to end Ohio’s ‘Cost of Corruption’. The Republican-controlled legislature has yet to act in the wake of Ohio’s $60-million HB 6 government corruption scandal, though House Democrats have continued to advocate for laws that better protect Ohioans from future public corruption scandals.
- Thursday, February 15th, Reps. Jessica E. Miranda (D-Forest Park) and Cecil Thomas (D-Cincinnati) will co-host the inaugural Gun Violence Prevention Summit. The event will include a series of panels and resource tables highlighting commonsense gun safety legislation and foster discussions on crucial policies supported by a bipartisan majority of Ohioans.
House Democrats today unveiled their People First video message that outlines their 2024 agenda and champions the belief in fighting for all Ohioans, no matter race, gender or economic status. The video can be viewed and downloaded by clicking the link below.
