House Democrats Commend Supreme Court's Decision Supporting Reproductive Freedom

COLUMBUS – Ohio House Minority Leader Allison Russo (D-Upper Arlington) issued the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling on access to the abortion pill mifepristone, which has been used by more than five million people in the United States.

“This ruling strengthens American’s fundamental freedom of bodily autonomy at a time where these rights are still threatened by extremist politicians,” said Leader Russo. “Ohioans should be able to make decisions about pregnancy and abortion free from politicians who try to control their bodies. House Democrats will continue to protect women’s freedom to access the healthcare they need, including abortion.”

The drug mifepristone has been found to be even safer and more effective by the Food and Drug Administration since it was originally approved in 2000.
