House Democrats announce replacement process for House District 11 Vacancy
COLUMBUS— State Rep. Daniel P. Troy (D-Willowick), parliamentarian of the Ohio House Democratic Caucus, today announced the caucus is requesting letters of interest from individuals seeking appointment to Ohio’s 11th House District seat, which is currently vacant following the departure of State Rep. Stephanie D. Howse (D-Cleveland), who was elected to the Cleveland City Council in November.
The District 11 office remains open and fully staffed, and Rep. Juanita Brent (D-Cleveland) will assist in constituent services until an appointment is made.
A screening panel of Democratic state representatives will interview applicants to make a recommendation to the 34 remaining members of the caucus. The caucus will then appoint a qualified applicant to serve the remainder of Howse’s term, which runs through December 2022.
Qualified applicants should email resumes and cover letters to Acting House Democratic Chief of Staff Andy DiPalma at Andy.DiPalma@ohiohouse.gov by Friday, Jan. 14 at 5 pm.
