Rep. Robert F. Hagan: So-Called 'Ohio Miracle' Just Pomp & Circumstance

Abysmal job numbers prompt need for common-sense solutions

COLUMBUS—Today’s state job numbers showed that 31,000 more Ohioans are out of work than at this time last year. State Rep. Robert F. Hagan (D-Youngstown) released the following statement in response to the update on Ohio’s stalled economic recovery:

“There’s a clear disconnect between the Governor’s rhetoric and Ohioans’ reality. Governor Kasich’s so-called ‘Ohio Miracle’ has turned out to be nothing more than pomp and circumstance. The reality is that Ohioans are struggling. 416,000 Ohioans are unemployed and with our abysmal job growth rate, it doesn’t look like they’ll be able to get back to work anytime soon. Our economy is falling behind, and we’re in desperate need of common sense solutions to get middle class families back on their feet.”
