Michele Lepore-Hagan (D-Youngstown) was officially sworn in to the Ohio House of Representatives Monday as State Representative for the 58th House District. Lepore-Hagan, elected to her first House term in November, will serve the citizens in Youngstown, Campbell, Lowellville, Struthers, Coitsville and parts of Austintown.

“I am thankful to the people of our district who put their faith in me to stand up and fight for our community,” Rep. Lepore-Hagan said. “We need to be focused on bringing quality jobs to our area while making investments in our communities and schools to drive economic growth and strategically prepare us for a better future and a higher quality of life. I am eager to roll up my sleeves and get to work.”

Rep. Lepore-Hagan was the Director of the Performing Arts Series at Youngstown State University before coming to the Ohio House. During that time, she raised two kids and was politically active in the Northside Youngstown community, serving on the boards of the Youngstown Area Urban League, the Youngstown Area Arts Council, Potential Development, and the Ballet Western Reserve.

The granddaughter of Irish and Italian immigrants, Lepore-Hagan holds a bachelor’s degree from Ohio University and is a ‘73 graduate of Boardman High School. She will serve the same House district as her husband, Robert F. Hagan, who was recently elected to serve on the state school board.
