Republicans Prioritize Censorship, Discrimination Over Freedoms, Economic Growth with SB 1's Passage

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Veronica Sims (D-Akron) today responded to the House passage of Senate Bill (SB) 1, the Higher Education Destruction Act:

“SB 1 erodes the collective bargaining abilities of essential faculty and instructors. SB 1 shackles the hands of our professors to teach and the minds of our students to learn, and it denies our young adults in higher education their right to be fully educated,” said Rep. Sims.

In trying to solve problems that do not exist, SB 1 creates new issues that will increase costs, stifle growth, and prevent Ohio’s young adults from reaching their full potential.
