Opened in 1905, the Marion Women’s Club, held their first meeting in Ida Barlow’s home, the site of the current club and building recognized for its historical significance to Ohio’s history.

“The Marion Women’s Club Home has been making history since the first meeting here in 1905,” said Richardson. “A place to come together, this home has provided a space for the women of Marion to positively impact their community for over 100 years.”

Through the years the Marion Women’s Club has provided college loans to young women, funded railroad crossing safety equipment, advocated for a modern health department and championed schools for the sake of growing Marion’s community.

“On this historic day, we dedicate a permanent reminder of a legacy,” Richardson added. “We believe that for years to come the women residing in Marion will know the proud history of this landmark and embrace its promise of hope for our future!”
