Richardson Celebrates 100th Anniversary of McAuliffe's Ace Hardware
MARYSVILLE – On Friday, State Rep. Tracy Richardson (R-Marysville) celebrated McAuliffe’s Ace Hardware on their 100th year in business.
The family business has continuously operated in Marysville since 1920. The McAuliffe brothers, John and Jerry, first started the shop primarily as a plumbing and heating contractor. In 1947, they invited their nephew, Larry Fitzgerald, into the company and he transformed it into a retail hardware operation.
McAuliffe’s Ace Hardware is now operated by Fitzgerald’s sons, Dan and Jim and Dan's son Sean thus making 4 generations of owners.
“This company is a staple in Marysville and I am excited to recognize their 100 years of success,” said Richardson. "They are an outstanding example of the American Dream realized right here in our community. You can always count on their friendly staff to help serve your needs and get the job done.”
The company offers a large variety of hardware, tools, plumbing, electrical and paint products, as well as a complete lawn & garden and outdoor nursery. In addition, they have a full rental department that contains everything from tools to tents.
Richardson presented a commendation to Dan and Sean Fitzgerald recognizing the 100th anniversary of McAuliffe’s Ace Hardware. Mayor Mark Reams and Councilman Alan Seymour joined her in the celebration.
