Richardson Applauds Business Growth in Union County
JEROME TOWNSHIP – State Rep. Tracy Richardson (R-Marysville) announced the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (OTCA) on Monday approved a collaborative project between JobsOhio and Midwest Molding Inc. in Union County. The initiative will create 55 full-time positions.
Located in Jerome Township, Midwest Molding is a plastic injection molding company. The expansion project is expected to generate $2 million in new annual payroll and retain $4.2 million in existing payroll. The company also plans to invest $6 million in new equipment.
“As we continue our recovery efforts from the pandemic, it’s encouraging and exciting to see a local business grow in our community,” said Richardson. “I appreciate the partnership of JobsOhio and Jerome Township in making this project possible.”
Midwest Molding will be moving all operations to its new 130,000-square-foot facility at 8400 Industrial Parkway. The move will help the company accommodate more production capacity and capabilities to meet anticipated growth over the next 5-10 years.
The project was made possible by the OTCA approving a 1.048 percent, six-year Job Creation Tax Credit for this project. During the group’s meeting on Monday, the OCTA approved assistance for nine projects across Ohio, creating 1,456 new jobs and spurring more than $322 million in investment.
