Rep. Richardson Applauds Passage of Bill Supporting Veterans
State Representative Tracy Richardson (R-Marysville) today announced the passage of Senate Bill 39, legislation that helps provide information to veterans about the benefits and services owed and available to them.
The bill requires the Director of Commerce, in consultation with the Director of Veterans Services, to create a veterans’ benefits and services poster. Additionally, the Department of Commerce is required to provide a copy of the poster, free of charge, to employers when requested.
“In Ohio, we strive to champion the needs of veterans because of their loyal and dedicated service to our country,” said Rep. Richardson. “We want to make sure veterans know that we support them and have their backs. This bill will help ensure that our veterans are aware of the services and resources available to them, and we hope employers can help spread the word through these informative posters.”
The goal of the bill is to highlight how veterans are many times unaware of the various benefits they are entitled to and that employers can play a role in informing veterans of these services.
Senate Bill 39 will now go to the Governor for his signature.
