Barhorst Votes in Favor of State Operating Budget
COLUMBUS – State Representative Tim Barhorst (R-Fort Loramie) voted in support of the two-year state budget, House Bill 33, which supports the Indian Lake Watershed Project, brownfield redevelopment, county fairs, local airport improvements, and several other initiatives.
Barhorst championed a number of provisions in the State Operating Budget, including an appropriation to promote the ongoing preservation of the Indian Lake Watershed Project.
“It is important to do what we can to protect the water quality at Indian Lake,” Barhorst said. “I am proud to support those who work at the watershed so our community can continue to enjoy the lake’s recreational and agricultural benefits.”
Additionally, Barhorst proudly supported the following provisions of the bill:
Assists commercial, cargo, and aviation facility improvements for local and regional airports; including the Bellefontaine Regional Airport in Logan County.
Supports county fairs by reimbursing county fairs for junior fair activities and the operation and future development of local and county fairs to make an economic impact.
Barhorst also supported an amendment for the Brownfield Remediation Fund.
“Brownfield remediation and building demolition will revitalize unused or underutilized land,” Barhorst said. “Repurposing brownfields is a great opportunity to attract new opportunities for businesses and job growth in Logan County.”
