State Representative Patton Supports Grant Funding for Ohio Drug Task Forces
Drug task forces throughout Ohio will be awarded $2 million in grant funding to support local law enforcement in their work to disrupt the drug trade in the state and enhance their role in substance use awareness, prevention, and recovery.
“As legislators, we must take every opportunity we can to combat this opioid crisis,” said Patton. “I was happy to support these funds in the passage of last year’s budget in order to further ensure safety within our communities.”
Last year, Patton voted in favor of the Ohio budget that included the new RecoveryOhio Law Enforcement Fund.
Grants from the RecoveryOhio Law Enforcement Fund are going to be allocated to 27 drug task forces to intensify their efforts to identify high-level drug traffickers, dismantle large drug trafficking organizations, interrupt the flow of money and drugs from Mexican cartels, and prevent the sale of illegal narcotics to those suffering from substance use disorder.
