COLUMBUS— State Representative Tom Patton (R-Strongsville), announced $1,045,716 for improvements to the I-71 Pearl Road exit in Strongsville.  The funds come from the Ohio Department of Transportation Highway Safety Improvement Program.

“Investing in infrastructure is always a good thing,” said Patton. “This project in particular will help alleviate the major congestion problem in southwest Cuyahoga County, while making our roads even safer.”

The Highway Safety Improvement Program is investing $87 million statewide for 28 projects across 22 counties.

The project will consist of upgrading the stop-controlled intersection at I-71 and Pearl Road to a signalized intersection and realign the right-turn slip lane.

Construction on the Pearl Road exit is expected to begin in FY26.
