Strongsville, OH – Ohio’s tax-free holiday, a way to save on back-to-school purchases and more, is currently underway, announces Rep. Tom Patton (R-Strongsville).

The period kicked off July 30 and will continue until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8.

“Ohio’s tax holiday provides a temporary relief for Ohioans who are feeling the burden of increasing costs all around them,” said Rep. Patton. “I hope we can all enjoy the savings for the next week while still supporting Ohio businesses.”

All tangible personal property that is $500 or less is included except for watercraft or outboard motors required to be titled pursuant to Chapter 1548 of the Revised Code, motor vehicles, an alcoholic beverage, tobacco, a vapor product, or an item that contains marijuana.

According to the Ohio Department of Taxation, “Tangible personal property is any property that can be seen, weighed, measured, felt, or touched, including prewritten computer software. Some examples of tangible personal property include, but are not limited to electronics, clothes, home goods, dine-in food, dietary supplements, pet food, toys, school and office supplies, sports equipment, luggage, musical instruments, personal care products, and soft drinks.”
