Patton Announces Manufacturing Project Bringing Hundreds of Jobs to Strongsville
State Rep. Tom Patton (R-Strongsville) announces that JobsOhio, Team NEO, and the Strongsville community worked collaboratively to bring the prominent technologies manufacturer, OMEC Smart Card, to Strongsville. The initiative will bring hundreds of new jobs to the area.
“It’s quite encouraging to see our district economically strong, even during COVID-19,” said Patton. “This is an investment and I am grateful to OMEC Smart Card, JobsOhio and everyone who took part in organizing this project as it moves forward in bringing more economic development to the region.”
Specifically, the project is set to bring 200 new jobs and over $20 million in new capital investment to the area.
According to their website, OMEC Smart Card is a manufacturer of various card products that serves municipal, governmental, industrial and enterprise customers worldwide. Their products are used in areas such as telecommunications, finance and payment security, social and public utilities in more than 40 countries and regions.
The announcement of the Strongsville facility will make it OMEC Smart Card’s first facility within North America.
