Claggett Sworn in to Serve Ohio's 68th House District
COLUMBUS— State Rep. Thad Claggett (R-Newark) yesterday took the oath of office for his first term as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives. He represents the 68th House district, which consists of the central and western region of Licking County.
Claggett is a Civil Engineer and President at Claggett & Sons, Inc., a fourth generation commercial and industrial construction contractor in Newark.
“Ohio has a long and rich history of excellent constitutional government, and I am pleased to represent the citizens of Licking County as we continue to push forward in this grand experiment of citizen representation as our form of government,” Claggett said.
Claggett is also very involved in his community. Currently, he serves as President of the Licking County Library Board, a director of the area action council for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB Ohio), and a board member of the Central Ohio and Ohio chapters of the Associated Builders and Contractors.
Yesterday’s session marked the beginning of the 135th General Assembly.
