COLUMBUS— Representative Tex Fischer (R-Boardman) is working to help Ohioans picking up extra shifts keep more money in their pockets.
On Friday, he introduced new legislation that would allow people to deduct their overtime wages from their state income tax.
"Every day, tens of thousands of working people in this state will pick up an extra shift to help cover the rising cost of living and provide for their families,” said Fischer. “We need to create a culture that rewards hard work and allow hardworking Ohioans to keep more of the money they earn."
The bill would revise current state personal income tax law.
It is still pending a committee assignment and is awaiting a number.
