Ray Reintroduces Legislation to Address Proposed Highway Interchange in Medina County
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Sharon Ray (R-Wadsworth) recently reintroduced House Bill 276 from the 135th General Assembly, legislation that came as a result of constituent concerns about a proposed highway interchange in the City of Brunswick. Ray is sponsoring the legislation alongside State Rep. Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland).
The bill will repeal a portion of the State Transportation Budget for fiscal years 2024-25 that requires the Ohio Department of Transportation to construct an I-71 interchange on Boston Road in the City of Brunswick.
“I will continue fighting for the citizens of Brunswick and Medina County as a whole,” said Ray. “This interchange will have a negative financial impact on the surrounding area, jeopardize the safety of the community, and force residents of Medina County to lose their homes through eminent domain.”
The legislation awaits a bill number and committee assignment.
