Scott Oelslager News

COLUMBUS – State Representative Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) announced the Ohio Controlling Board released more than $340,000 in state funding earmarked for infrastructure improvements to Stark State College of Technology.

One of the major projects being funded is the renovation of the existing industrial research space. The project will create a new state-of-the-art welding lab with robotics and automation capabilities. The project will cost about $175,000.

“Stark State is becoming a premier destination for tech focused training in our state,” said Oelslager. “The funding being provided through the Controlling Board allows the college to continuously grow their curriculum and provide quality job training skills.”

The remaining funds will be used to make infrastructure updates to buildings around the campus and repave parking lots and roadways.

The Ohio Controlling Board is the financial legislative oversight for capital and operating expenditures by state agencies. Oelslager serves as one of the six legislators on the Board.
