Oelslager Supports Legislation as 134th GA Comes to a Close
COLUMBUS —During the final days of the 134th General Assembly, State Representative Scott Oelslager (R-North Canton) supported an assorted amount of legislation in order to improve the lives of Ohioans.
House Bill 645 will authorize the State Board of Pharmacy to create rules for remote dispensing pharmacies.
A remote dispensing pharmacy is a traditional brick-and-mortar pharmacy without a certified pharmacist onsite. Pharmacy technicians fill patient’s orders while a pharmacist reviews orders using telepharmacy software from a remote location.
“Access to medication is vitally important. With a shortage of pharmacists around the state, this structure will allow for medication to reach the patient in a timely manner,” said Oelslager.
The legislation passed the House by a vote of 90-2.
Oelslager also voted ‘yes’ on the following pieces of legislation:
- House Bill 572, will establish programs to provide additional funding for residential care facilities that are eligible to participate under the assisted living waiver Medicaid program. The legislation passed the House by a vote of 92-0;
- Senate Bill 63, authorizes a D9 liquor permit for the sale and onsite consumption of alcohol at an establishment that host automobile racing if the site meets count and township population parameters and has a fixed seating capacity for at least 2,000 people. The legislation passed the House 90-1;
- Senate Bill 259, will add a member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America to the Veterans Advisory Board. The legislation passed the House 77-1;
- Senate Bill 210, establishes and expands legal relationships between spouses and expands dating violence protection orders to include minors. The legislation passed the House 76-2.
All of the legislation has been signed by the governor and will go into law.
Representative Oelslager is looking forward to the start of the next General Assembly where he will continue to put his best foot forward when making decisions to better Ohio.
