Oelslager Announces Controlling Board Releases
COLUMBUS—State Representative Scott Oelslager (R – North Canton) announced Monday that the Ohio Controlling Board has approved funds for gas station cleanup activities in Alliance and to make improvements at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare and Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility.
The Abandoned Gas Station Cleanup Grant provides funding to assess and cleanup abandoned gas stations. The $415,000 approved will fund the cleanup of a gas station located at 105 West State Street, Alliance, Ohio.
The Controlling Board approved a release of $857,000 to fund ongoing improvements at Heartland Behavioral Healthcare, including door and security improvements.
Heartland Behavioral Healthcare is a state owned and operated in-patient behavioral healthcare hospital located in Massillon, Ohio.
The Controlling Board also approved the release of $176,876 to Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility to renovate the dining room and increase the number of youth served in the cafeteria at one time. Renovations will allow for additional control over population movement within the dining room. These improvements will also allow for the room to serve as a location for additional programming and an education space.
The Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility serves male youth and is accredited by the American Correctional Association. Indian River provides a variety of services and treatment for youth.
