Three local projects benefitting from Ohio brownfield remediation

Ohio State Rep. Ron Ferguson has announced three projects have been awarded locally as part of the new Ohio Brownfield Remediation Program.
They are $84,150 for the Bellaire hospital site cleanup and remediation to the Belmont County Improvement Corporation.
Two grants have been awarded to the Jefferson County Port Authority. One is for $175,000 for cleanup of the Piney Fork UST property. That's a former general store site dating from Piney Fork's function as a coal company town.
The other - $300,000 - is for the Tidewater Honey Creek property, which is the former site of the Weirton Steel Steubenville plant off Ohio 7.
