Hall, Creech Tour Butler Tech and Highlight State Budget Funding

State Reps. Thomas Hall (R-Madison Twp.) and Rodney Creech (R-West Alexandria) toured the Butler Tech career center this week to see their ongoing efforts in building workforce skills for students and to highlight funding from the state operating budget.

“We committed millions of dollars that will be given to career centers across the state to focus on getting students the right skills to fill those workforce shortages and gaps that have been hurting our state,” Hall said.

The representatives supported the state operating budget that was approved and signed into law this summer that invests $300 million for career tech facilities.

“We’re dedicating these dollars to not only career tech, but this is also helping our students to build skills they need to pursue a future diploma, a job, or another career path that best suits them,” Creech said.

The group visited with both students and teachers in several labs including welding technology, precision making, mechatronics, and others.

Butler Tech CEO/Superintendent Jon Graft notes their center’s goal of expanding on their facilities.

“The tour and visit from Ohio State Representatives Creech and Hall was an important opportunity to showcase our students and outstanding work that is being done at Butler Tech,” shared Jon Graft, Butler Tech CEO/Superintendent. “I am appreciative for the opportunity to discuss Butler Tech’s future goals such as building new facilities to accommodate more students and partnering with local businesses and organizations to provide high-level internship and job opportunities for students. I look forward to working together to see these projects come to fruition.”
