Rep. Robinson Announces Virtual Town Hall on Voting During COVID-19
COLUMBUS — State Rep. Phil Robinson (D-Solon) today announced his next virtual town hall as part of the second Ohio Promise Town Hall Tour. The Voting and the 2020 General Election During COVID-19 Virtual Town Hallwill be held Monday, August 24, at 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Facebook Live from his official Facebook pageto take questions and discuss general information on how to vote, health and safety around in person voting, absentee ballots and vote-by-mail logistics, and other struggles voters are facing during the pandemic.
“It’s clear that there is a lot of fear and confusion around voting this fall. As I continue to advocate for more resources and access to voting, I also want to give people the essential information they need to vote during the pandemic,” said Rep. Robinson. “Like the reopening of schools, Ohioans have questions and concerns that need to be answered around voting. I want to do what I can to provide answers to these questions and give constituents all of the knowledge they need in order to exercise one of their most important democratic privileges in America.”
This will be Rep. Robinson’s second panel discussion style town hall. Election officials, voter rights advocates, and postal workers will be represented in the panel with Rep. Robinson moderating as he poses questions and takes questions from people watching live.
The panel will include:
- Anthony Perlatti, Director of the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (CCBOE)
- Camille Wimbish, Esq., Election Administration Director of Ohio Voice
- Nigel Saleem, Vice-President of Cleveland Area Local 72, American Postal Worker’s Union (APWU), AFL-CIO
