COLUMBUS – State Representatives Phil Plummer (R-Dayton) and Tom Young (R-Washington Twp.) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved $78.7M in funding for facility enhancements to the Dayton International Airport and Sierra Nevada Corporation in Dayton.
“With the state’s investment in Sierra Nevada Corporation, which is located in my House District 39, we will see great job opportunities for people in the Dayton Region,” said Rep. Plummer. “Sierra Nevada is a global leader in aerospace and defense. This is a major investment in our community and will help people improve the quality of life they live.”
“This is indicative of the commitment of Ohio being the aerospace center of the United States,” said Rep. Young. “This is a critical investment for Dayton International airport and the expansion of Sierra Nevada by maintaining their excellence and supporting our Airforce who protects our nation.”
This funding will specifically aide construction of airport aprons, airport taxiway, and area roadwork. This project will service over 150 acres in the City of Dayton, City of Union, and Butler Township, located within the existing Dayton International Airport Area.
