State Representative Nick Santucci (R-Niles) today announced that the Ohio Department of Development issued $1.4M in grants and tax credits to help Ohioans in six counties become homeowners.

The Trumbull County Land Reutilization Corporation will receive $270,000 in grants for the rehabilitation of nine homes.

“This type of investment is critical for revitalizing our neighborhoods and making homeownership more accessible for Ohioans," said Santucci. "I'm proud to have championed funding in the budget for the Welcome Home Ohio program, and I'm glad to see $270,000 awarded to the Trumbull County Land Reutilization Corporation. This funding will help attract families back to the Lake to River region, strengthen our communities, and make a real impact for the people of Trumbull County."

This funding is part of the Welcome Home Ohio program which has built or rehabbed 440 single family houses for Ohioans over the last two years. To further enhance the initiative this biennium, House Bill 96 – Ohio’s Operating Budget – increased funding for the program and made updates that allow for greater participation, supporting more Ohioans and their dream of owning a home.
