Rep. Grim Announces More Than $1M in Ohio First Scholarships for the University of Toledo
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today announced the University of Toledo has received $1M in funding from the State of Ohio’s Choose Ohio First Scholarship program to provide financial support for students receiving degrees in the science, technology, engineering, and math fields. Choose Ohio First Scholarships are designated to students who are Ohio residents, and work to increase Ohio’s competitiveness in the science and technology fields.
“I am thrilled that the University of Toledo has again secured more than $1M in scholarship funding for students working to obtain STEM degrees. This funding will provide much needed practical support for students, who represent some of the best and brightest in Ohio’s most in-demand fields,” said Rep. Grim.
Scholarship funds will go to students in academic programs such as data science, neuroscience, and health sciences, among many others. These programs represent some of the most in-demand careers in the coming years and scholarships like Ohio First ensure those careers will be developed in the Toledo and greater Lucas County area.
