COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today announced that the Ohio Department of Transportation approved $816,834 in funding for the Shoreland Elementary Sidewalk Gap Project, as a part of the 2026 Safe Routes to School Project.
“All students deserve to feel safe as they make their way to school each morning. This investment recognizes that pedestrian safety must be a statewide priority and helps ensure that Ohioans can get where they need to go safely. These sidewalk improvements will benefit not only Shoreland students, but the entire Toledo community,” said Rep. Grim.
The ODOT Safe Routes to School program has dispersed nearly $100 million to public institutions since 2005. These funds improve walkways across the state.
