Issue 1 Poll Proves Overwhelming, Bipartisan Support to Vote "NO" on August Special Election for Special Interests
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Michele Grim (D-Toledo) today says the new USA TODAY Network/Suffolk University poll that shows 57% of likely Ohio voters are against Issue 1 proves there is overwhelming, bipartisan support to defeat this undemocratic attack by extremists and special interest to make it harder to amend the Ohio constitution.
“The results from this poll show that Issue 1 is highly unpopular and it would end 112 years of majority rule in Ohio,” said Rep. Grim. “Its supporters have put it on the ballot in an August special election hoping for low voter turnout. So, as Ohioans, if you want to keep your power over politicians and retain the freedom to determine your own future, please vote “NO” on Issue 1”
Along with extremely strong Democratic support, the USA TODAY Network/Suffolk University poll of 500 likely Ohio voters found that, “41% of Republicans, 60% of independents and 41% of Ohioans who voted for President Donald Trump in 2020 said they're also against it.”
House Democrats are united on voting “NO” on the unpopular, unfair, & undemocratic Issue 1 which would end majority rule in Ohio. Get more info on making a plan to vote “NO” to protect our freedoms here.
