Meredith R. Lawson-Rowe News

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Meredith Lawson-Rowe (D-Reynoldsburg) today announced that the Transportation Review Advisory Council (TRAC) recommended funding for construction of a highway widening on US 33 in southeastern Franklin County.

“I am excited to announce this recommendation of an incredible infrastructure improvement opportunity in House District 5,” said Rep. Lawson-Rowe. “Widening of this busy highway will ensure that additional traffic flow can get to and from Franklin and Fairfield Counties more efficiently and safely.”

TRAC, within the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), oversees a selection proves that includes the prioritization and approval for funding projects that are part of the Major New Capacity Program, projects with an overall cost greater than $12M, that increase capacity or reduce congestion, and that are critical to the mobility, economic development, and quality of life for the citizens of Ohio.

Part of TRAC’s project recommendations approved at today’s meeting was for an $82.8M investment in the first-phase construction of a third lane in both directions of US 33 in southeastern Columbus and Canal Winchester between Interstate 270 and Gender Road.
