Rep. Lawson-Rowe Announces $86M for Sewer Extensions
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Meredith Lawson-Rowe (D-Reynoldsburg) Wednesday announced that the State Controlling Board approved $86M for sewer extensions and other utility projects in parts of Franklin and Pickaway counties.
“I am excited to announce this important funding that will be directly invested for the benefit of House District 5,” said Rep. Lawson-Rowe. “By using these funds to improve the various sewer and waterways, gas and electric lines in Hamilton and Madison Townships, the state is ensuring that House District 5 is environmentally sound, and the residents therein will have access to safe and clean water and new job opportunities.”
Funding for this project is being appropriated from the All Ohio Future Fund, which was established in the 2024-2025 state operating budget to invest $750M to aid local communities with site-readiness and preparation to attract economic development projects.
This specific project will add 17.1M gallons per day water capacity, 28.5M gallons per day sewer/wastewater capacity, 40 megawatts of electric capacity, and 700M cubic feet per hour of gas capacity to areas of the site where none currently exists in the Rickenbacker Area. Such improvements will allow the area to be marketable for transformational investments in advanced manufacturing industries.
