Meredith R. Lawson-Rowe News

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Meredith Lawson-Rowe (D-Reynoldsburg) today announced that the State Controlling Board approved $390K for HVAC upgrades and repairs at the Rickenbacker Army Base in Franklin County.

“I am excited to announce this important funding that will be directly invested for the benefit of House District 5,” said Rep. Lawson-Rowe. “These funds will ensure that Rickenbacker Army Base can continue to function as a state-of-the-art, top military defense base in Ohio and our nation.”

Funding for this project is being appropriated from capital funds awarded in House Bill 2, the most recent state capital budget, which was passed into law last year.

This specific project is part of a three-step plan created by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission to troubleshoot the HVAC system at Rickenbacker Army Base along with a partial system redesign that will increase the systems life expectancy by an additional 20 years.

Other Controlling Board items approved Monday include:

    1. $657k for the Ohio Secretary of State’s office to create and publish statewide ballot PSA’s and issue publications for the upcoming primary elections in May.
    2. $250K for Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) to conduct post-construction infrastructure services statewide; and
    3. $67K for Ohio Deaf and Blind Services to provide early intervention services to deaf and blind students.
