COLUMBUS — State Rep. Meredith R. Lawson-Rowe (D-Reynoldsburg) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board has approved the release of $104,000 for the replacement of the HVAC system at Rickenbacker Army Enclave Building 945, located in Columbus, OH.

“This funding will ensure that the HVAC system at Building 945 is fully restored, providing a comfortable and efficient environment for our service members. It's critical that we maintain our military facilities to the highest standards, and this project is an important step toward that goal,” said Rep. Lawson-Rowe.

The Adjutant General's Department requested these funds to complete a partial HVAC system replacement at Rickenbacker Building 945, also known as the Band Training Building. The goal of the project is to restore the HVAC system to its original, intended functionality. This project began with Controlling Board approval (ADJ0105257) in April of this year. During the course of the work, the contractor identified the need for the replacement of the secondary pumps in the hydronic system to ensure optimal and efficient operation.

Trane US Inc., the company that originally manufactured the HVAC system, is overseeing the replacement work. The costs for the project are being split with 75% of the funding coming from federal sources and the remaining 25% from state funds.
