COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today voted “NO” on the Republican state operating budget, House Bill (HB) 96, because it arbitrarily and recklessly slashes critical state funding areas while failing to benefit everyday Ohioans. Rather than provide real and meaningful support to Ohio’s citizens, House Republicans chose to dismantle the constitutional and bipartisan fair school funding formula, dump more taxpayer money into vouchers for charter non-public and private schools that benefit the wealthiest Ohioans, and authorize a $600M handout to billionaires to build a new Browns stadium outside of Cleveland amidst opposition by local leaders.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and Munira Abdullahi (D-Columbus) Tuesday provided sponsor testimony in the Ohio House Transportation Committee for House Bill (HB) 63. This legislation requires the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) to install and maintain cameras at all rest stops that they operate by June 30, 2031. ODOT operates 93 rest stops and has been installing cameras at new and renovated rest stops.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced her assignment to the Ohio Commission on Infant Mortality for the 136th General Assembly. The Ohio Commission on Infant Mortality (ORC 3701.68) was created in 2014 with the goal of improving Ohio's infant mortality rate. Commission members are pulled together from the state legislature, directors, and designees from various executive agencies, and representatives from Ohio’s healthcare sector and community-based programs. The commission is charged with advising the governor on how to best allocate state funding and services to addressing infant mortality, which is defined as the death of a live-born baby before his or her first birthday.
