COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today shows her support for those who voted “NO” on the vote to override a school district property tax levy restriction provision vetoed in House Bill 96 (the state operating budget). Line-item 66 would eliminate several types of levies, limiting the choices voters have in how to support their schools and local governments, and would not provide real property tax relief to Ohioans. Real property tax relief is one of the most pressing needs for everyday Ohioans. House Democrats are ready and willing to work together to get that done.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today shared her opposition to the Ohio House Republican Majority calling a session of the Ohio House of Representatives on Monday, July 21st to override several of the school and local funding-related property tax provisions that were recently vetoed by Governor Mike DeWine in House Bill (HB) 96, the biennial state operating budget. The items up for consideration, items 55, 65, and 66 of Amended Substitute House Bill 96, pertain to controversial property tax changes.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Village of Poland in Mahoning County has been awarded $650K from the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Safe Routes to School program. The funding will support a major infrastructure project aimed at enhancing safety for students walking and biking to school.

As part of this initiative, Inspiring Minds of Youngstown received a $1K grant to support a community project in Rep. McNally’s district.

COLUMBUS – State Reps. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and Matthew Kishman (R-Minerva) Monday announced the introduction of House Bill (HB) 349, the Call Center Protection Act, bipartisan legislation meant to protect call center work in Ohio. This bill encourages businesses to stay in Ohio and stay in the United States of America. This bill would require notification of relocation of call centers in Ohio and disqualification of tax benefits for companies that locate jobs overseas. The goal of this legislation is to keep career paths open for Ohioans and to protect customer data.
