COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and members of Communications Workers of America Union (CWA) hosted a press conference at the Statehouse to share important updates to the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program.  The Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act provided nearly $800M in federal grants to provide Ohio the opportunity to build broadband infrastructure and help decrease the digital divide across the state. Currently, 15% of Ohioans do not have access to the internet.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and the Austintown Township Administration today announced $4,875 from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office’s “Shine a Light on Dumpers” program, awarded to Austintown Township. The funding will be used to stop after-hours dumping at Green Briar Township Park by installing a barrier gate at the park entrance to limit access during non-operational hours.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office has received $104,260.36 in grant funding from the 2025 Drug Law Enforcement Grant program. The 2025 Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund targets drug trafficking, pharmaceutical diversion and organized criminal activity associated with the drug trade through intelligence gathering, information sharing and multi-agency coordination. Grants also assist drug overdose victims and their families through education, support and treatment. This is part of a wider initiative announced by Gov. Mike DeWine to combat Ohio’s illicit substance trade.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today voted “NO” on the Republican state operating budget, House Bill (HB) 96, because it arbitrarily and recklessly slashes critical state funding areas while failing to benefit everyday Ohioans. Rather than provide real and meaningful support to Ohio’s citizens, House Republicans chose to dismantle the constitutional and bipartisan fair school funding formula, dump more taxpayer money into vouchers for charter non-public and private schools that benefit the wealthiest Ohioans, and authorize a $600M handout to billionaires to build a new Browns stadium outside of Cleveland amidst opposition by local leaders.
