COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today released the following statement concerning Issue 2’s resounding passage by Ohio’s voters:

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved $315,205 for construction services at the Ohio State Penitentiary.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved $876,366.90 in funding to Youngstown State University (YSU) for an IT infrastructure project. 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and members of Communications Workers of America Union (CWA) hosted a press conference at the Statehouse to share important updates to the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program.  The Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act provided nearly $800M in federal grants to provide Ohio the opportunity to build broadband infrastructure and help decrease the digital divide across the state. Currently, 15% of Ohioans do not have access to the internet.  

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and the Austintown Township Administration today announced $4,875 from the Ohio Attorney General’s Office’s “Shine a Light on Dumpers” program, awarded to Austintown Township. The funding will be used to stop after-hours dumping at Green Briar Township Park by installing a barrier gate at the park entrance to limit access during non-operational hours.

COLUMBUS- House Bill 661, legislation that regulates imitation meat and egg products, has been introduced by State Representative Roy Klopfenstein (R- Haviland) and State Representative Jack Daniels (R- New Franklin). 

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) Wednesday announced that the Ohio Department of Development approved $1.1M in grants for their Recovery Housing Program. This included $109,678 for Mahoning County to assist 121 Ohioans in recovery by providing safe and structured sober housing options. 

COLUMBUS— On Friday, June 12, State Rep. Melanie Miller (R-City of Ashland) joined the Ohio Association of Meat Processors, the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and other legislators on a tour of Heffelfinger’s Meats, Inc., the largest harvesting facility in Ohio.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office has received $104,260.36 in grant funding from the 2025 Drug Law Enforcement Grant program. The 2025 Ohio Drug Law Enforcement Fund targets drug trafficking, pharmaceutical diversion and organized criminal activity associated with the drug trade through intelligence gathering, information sharing and multi-agency coordination. Grants also assist drug overdose victims and their families through education, support and treatment. This is part of a wider initiative announced by Gov. Mike DeWine to combat Ohio’s illicit substance trade.

COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce designated Austintown Fitch High School as 2025 Purple Star Class. Purple Star schools show a significant commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s armed forces. This is the first time that Austintown Fitch High School has received this award.

Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced $5,000 in grant funding from the America 250-Ohio Commission for the Layers of Legacy: Preserving Youngstown’s Hidden History project. The Layers of Legacy project will celebrate Youngstown’s rich and diverse history through a vibrant public mural that brings to life untold and underrepresented stories.

State Representative Meredith Craig (R-Smithville) announced today that the OneOhio Recovery Foundation has launched a new statewide round of opioid settlement grant funding, making up to $45.7 million available to support prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts across Ohio.
