Rep. McNally, The America 250-Ohio Commission Announces the Butler Institute of American Art on Ohio Creativity Trail
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Butler Institute of American Art has been selected to be part of the Ohio Creativity Trail, a new experiential driving trail that spans 109 sites across the state. The trail highlights the work of Ohio's past and present writers, musicians, artists, and other creatives.
“Youngstown and all of District 58 is filled with vibrant creatives and artists,” said Rep. McNally. “I am honored that the America 250 Commission has chosen to highlight the Butler Institute of American Art and I am excited to see what else the commission does to celebrate this milestone for our country.”
This initiative is the second of six planned experiential trails as part of the America 250-Ohio’s signature Trails & Tales program. The Ohio Creativity Trail features sites grouped into six categories: On the Page, Music, Visual Arts, Glass & Pottery, Folk & Traditional Art, and Carousels.
Founded in 1919, the Butler Institute of Art is one of the earliest museums dedicated exclusively to collecting, exhibiting, and preserving the art of America’s past, present, and future. To learn more about the Butler Institute, please visit https://butlerart.com/
In 2026, the United States will celebrate its semiquincentennial, which is the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Each state has been encouraged to create a celebration and commemoration of this anniversary to reflect the unique character and contributions of each state to the nation over the past 250 years. Ohio is fully embracing this opportunity. For more information about Ohio’s America 250 plan: https://america250-ohio.org/
