Rep. McNally of Ohio House District 58 Sworn Into 136th General Assembly
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today was sworn into the 136th Ohio General Assembly. Rep. McNally is beginning her second term in the legislature, serving the people of the Youngstown area at the Ohio Statehouse.
“I feel incredibly honored to be given more time to accomplish goals and complete unfinished work on behalf of the great people of the Mahoning Valley. No differently than before, I will make myself and my office available to you and am here to address the concerns most heavily weighing on your hearts and minds,” said Rep. McNally. “This is a privilege I continue to take very seriously and will never lose that perspective so long as I am entrusted to be at the Statehouse for all of you.”
Having previously served Ohio’s 59th District, Rep. McNally will now be representing House District 58 following the new redistricting maps. The Representative will retain her existing phone number, while her email addresses will change to correspond with the new district numbers: rep58@ohiohouse.gov.
A 5th Ward Councilwoman for Youngstown City Council prior to joining the state legislature, Rep. McNally’s family values stem from a strong sense of duty and a legacy of service to others. Her grandfathers were both World War II veterans. Her maternal grandfather is famed longtime principal and legendary high school football coach at Ursuline High School, Tom Carey, while her paternal grandfather was a lifelong union millworker and Romanian native who helped several others immigrate to the United States. Rep. McNally knows firsthand how educators and good union wages and benefits can strengthen communities.
As a legislator, Rep. McNally will continue to focus on helping families thrive by prioritizing affordable housing, veterans, workforce development, protecting children, education, and everyday cost of living challenges. Having secured more than $100 million dollars in state funding for the area, Rep. McNally will keep collaborating with local leaders to ensure the 58th District is a priority of the state.
