Rep. McNally, Meridian HealthCare Announces $1M for Renovations
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) and Meridian HealthCare Monday announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved $1M in funding for Meridian HealthCare renovations to extend the program space to 26,094 square feet. Additionally, they will be building an in-house pharmacy for easier access to patient care.
“This is an exciting opportunity for Meridian HealthCare and for all the people they serve in the Mahoning Valley. Mental health, alcohol, and drug treatment can save lives. I am excited to see more services and more capacity to help adults, children, and families that are struggling with mental health and/or addiction,” said Rep. McNally.
Meridian HealthCare is a non-profit that provides primary care, mental health services, and substance use services and has served the residents of the Mahoning Valley for over 50 years. Meridian is planning on expanding and renovating their facility with the help of these state funds.
“Meridian is grateful to receive this funding,” stated Larry Moliterno, President/CEO for Meridian. “These renovations will allow us to continue to provide patient-focused care to our community.”
The expansion of Meridian HealthCare will serve as an access point for care. Meridian HealthCare will be located at 527 North Meridian Road is within walking distance of community amenities and can accommodate persons with physical disabilities. Access to these funds was made possible by The Department of Mental Health & Addiction Services and the Mahoning County Mental Health and Recovery Board.
