Rep. McNally announces state tax credit approval for Trivium Corporation expansion

COLUMBUS- State Representative Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) announced today approved assistance from the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) for Trivium Aluminum Packaging USA Corporation in the city of Youngstown. Formed in 2019 following the merger of Exal and Ardagh Groups Food & Speciality Business, the Trivium Corporation expansion is expected to create 93 full-time jobs and $6.1 million in new annual payroll.

“Keeping jobs, growing jobs and expanding opportunities for working families is why we do this work at the state level,” said Rep. McNally. “I’m happy to see this needed investment in jobs and the hardworking people of Mahoning Valley. They deserve it.”

A metal can and aluminum container company, Trivium Corporation currently generates $32.7 million in annual payroll. At its January monthly meeting, the TCA agreed to a 1.522%, eight-year Job Creation Tax Credit for Trivium Corporation’s expansion project, after reviewing economic development proposals brought to them by JobsOhio and other regional partners. The tax credit is worth an estimated $725,000.
