Rep. McNally Announces $876,366.90 for Youngstown State University IT Infrastructure
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Ohio Controlling Board approved $876,366.90 in funding to Youngstown State University (YSU) for an IT infrastructure project.
“YSU has always been committed to giving their students a quality education. Having up-to-date technology and the infrastructure to support everyone on campus is a key to accomplishing that mission. I am proud of the state’s investment in YSU and can’t wait to see the good it will do,” said Rep. McNally.
Youngstown State University will use the funds to upgrade their IT infrastructure and purchase the necessary equipment so that they can sustainably upgrade their data center. The equipment being replaced is about eight years old and at the end of its life cycle. The university was able to purchase some of the necessary equipment from an Ohio based company, Brown Enterprise Solutions, LLC.
Youngstown State University is one of the largest employers in Youngstown and the IT department supports all the employees, students, and guests.
