Rep. McNally Announces $1.1M for Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that the Ohio Department of Development approved $1.1M in grant funding for the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation, as part of the wider Housing Assistance Grant Program funding awarded by the Department of Development.
“There are thousands of vulnerable Ohioans who are unable to afford critical repairs to their homes. Sometimes, people need help staying in their home when there are new accessibility issues. This funding will go a long way in making sure every Ohioan can live in their homes without safety concerns,” said Rep. McNally.
The money awarded the Youngstown Neighborhood Development Corporation is intended to provide essential home repairs and accessibility modifications for homeowners who are at or below 50% Area Median Income (AMI). The Housing Assistance Grant Program are grants dedicated to providing funding to non-profit agencies contracting local qualified construction companies for emergency home repairs and renovations for handicap accessibility projects, improving quality of life for nearly 1,200 Ohioans.
