Rep. McNally Announces $103,939 for The Butler Institute of American Art
COLUMBUS – State Rep. Lauren McNally (D-Youngstown) today announced that The Butler Institute of American Art has been awarded $103,939 from the Ohio Arts Council (OAC) and the America 250 Commission. This funding opportunity was through the Trillium Local Activity Grant and will be used to support core operations and The Butler Institute of American Art’s America 250 project: Joseph G. Butler Jr. – Collections of Our Nation. It is a special exhibition that celebrates the museum’s founder and over 400 years of American history.
The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically and tries to be a leader and voice for the arts to transform people and communities.
“It is wonderful to see all the America 250 opportunities that are coming to the Youngstown area. I am excited to see all the new and permanent exhibits the museum will add throughout the year and the opportunity for Youngstown to learn more about its’ history,” said Rep. McNally.
The Butler Institute of American Art’s mission is dedicated to the collection, exhibition, and preservation of American art locally, nationally, and internationally.
