COLUMBUS – State Representative Kevin Ritter (R-Marietta) is pleased to share that the Ohio Controlling Board today approved funding for several projects in both Athens and Washington Counties.

In Athens County, Hocking Technical College will receive $425,300 to make renovations to an existing roof. This renovation will be essential to the school's success and to continue to educate students.

In Washington County, the Controlling Board approved $1,825,000 to restore the Ohio River Museum, which is located on the Muskingum River in Marietta, Ohio. This museum highlights the rich history of the Ohio River and its role in establishing the great state of Ohio. Additionally, the controlling board approved $2,884,000 for renovations of the Campus Martius Museum, a regional history museum showcasing one of the first permanent organized settlements of the Northwest Territory.

“The Ohio River Museum and Campus Matrius Museum protect and illuminate important aspects of our local history and legacy on the state,” said Ritter. “I’m glad to see restoration efforts move forward with this funding.”

The Ohio Controlling Board oversees requests for changes to budgetary authority for state agencies.
