State Representative Kevin Ritter (R-Marietta) announced that the Ohio Office of Budget and Management recently approved the release of funding to support several key community projects in the 94th House District.

“I’m pleased to see these important projects moving forward,” said Rep. Ritter. “Not only do these kinds of investments boost our future workforce, but they strengthen our commitment to preserving the region’s local history and cultural heritage.”

The following community projects were approved for funding:

  • Ohio River Museum – $2,150,000 for Phase 1 of a two-phase renovation project, which includes the installation of new exhibits. Phase 1 will also construct the building shell and prepare half of the facility to house the Washington County Public Library’s Local History and Genealogical Archives.
  • Marietta Castle Museum – $130,000 for restoration updates to the historic Gothic Revival house, built circa 1855 and listed as a contributing element in the Marietta National Register Historic District.
  • Washington State Community College – $118,245 in capital funds through the Workforce Based Training & Equipment RAPIDS Program. In partnership with the Northern Appalachia Collaborative, this project will expand regional training in in-demand occupations such as automotive, engineering, and health care – ensuring a skilled workforce that’s prepared to meet industry needs.
